The walkthrough I use has me learning pathfinding at that time, but before I go and fuck Erato, I go to the stables, talk to Nell, get a choice of statements for her, choose "Trouble?" and she will give me the finger bone. I got the bone, walked away, went out to the woods and STILL got to fuck Erato (and advance my pathfinding).

Like ReplyAlex, I don't think you can. The third panty can be found in Samarra's tent in the chest, but the game will bug because the image file for the panty is missing. Just click Ignore when that happens, don't look at Inventory, and just go to Train Courage to give the panty to Thaddeus. Then you can check Inventory again without bug.
